Texas Jumping Beans

Doug has been sick for over two weeks now. Unfortunately, he's been feeling pretty cruddy lately. Well, with him laid up trying to make progress as quickly as possible, I decided to take the kiddos out. Since CCR's birthday party was at Texas Jumping Beans, we received one free admission for him, and since TMR is under 12 months, it was a free trip.

CCR is the best big brother...ever! He loves his baby sister and does his best to make sure she has a toy to play with and that she's completely taken care of. He is very protective of her, and she looks up to him.

This was TMR's second trip to TJB but her first time to participate. She had a blast! She is much more of a risk taker than CCR. She loved the jumping area!! When she was sitting in there, I would push on the inflatable which would bounce her up and down...she loved it! She had the biggest smile on her face and was giggling out of control. CCR, being our very conservative risk averse kid, kept telling me "No Mommy"...it was pretty cute!

CCR tends to take quite some time to warm up to TJB. He was rolling around in the inflatable and playing with the foam cubes in the beginning. A bunch of kiddos came and joined us in the little kids area which caused him to clam up. A very nice family sat by my on the bench and started playing near CCR. The dad did a great job and breaking CCR back out of his shell and bringing out his daughter's personality. The three of them (with some help from the two mommies) had a great time playing with the foam cubes. They built towers and walls and CCR would bust them apart...very cute!

CCR loves slides! This small slide has always been his main attraction...even when we came for the first time over a year ago. Now he's more willing to go down the slide forward and backwards...it's great to see him breaking out of the box a little bit...

CCR having a great time climbing on some of the objects at TJB.

CCR was worn out toward the end. We were there for almost two hours which is almost twice a long as usual. CCR was so tired that he was lying down on some of the foam pieces almost like it was nap time at school...he found this chair and was able to rest between sets...too funny!

Be sure to check out TJB. It's a great place in Pfville!!

Family Photos

Living Social is a fun deal site that I frequent to see if there is a good daily deal. Well, I stumbled upon a deal that I couldn't refuse. It was for a photography session, 2 5 x 7's and 2 8 x 10's for I think it was something like $50. It was a great deal! So I bought two! The photographer is Kate Hardy, and she is awesome! She's totally down to earth and does great work! We had some issues with getting our digital images to burn onto a CD, but finally we got the images (way more than we anticipated - paid for - because of the delay) so here they are - a little late, but awesome nonetheless...

I'm learning just how difficult it is to get a family of four to take a nice photo...

I love this photo - Daddy's face and TMR's chunky legs...I love it!

I LOVE this photo!!! This just melts my heart...

I love his hand in his pocket...he's so cool...

My mom commented, which I agree, that this photo is super sweet because it's TMR's secret that this moment was captured on film...

CCR is such a sweet kisser...and I love it when I am the recipient!!

This is my favorite photo, I think, ever! Such a sweet moment...

TMR was just sitting up when we took these...such a cutie!!

CCR is the sweetest big brother EVER!!! Here he is trying to hold her hands...

Success! And a sweet moment...

TMR has the most feminine lips/mouth...I don't know where she got it...it sure wasn't me!

This is my totally and completely wonderfully photogenic son...oh my goodness...watch out ladies...here comes a heart-breaker!

Thank you Kate for such wonderful photos!! We're looking forward to doing this again in a few weeks!

Halloween

In years past, CCR has just been a little too young to dress him up for Halloween. This year, we figured it would be cute to dress them up as Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. TMR actually looks a lot like Pebbles (I discovered that messing with her hair one day) so I figured we should dress them up like those two characters before she got much older. So please enjoy the pictures of CCR and TMR dressed up for Halloween...

Mimi came over to see the kiddos dressed up. Thank you for bringing raisins for CCR to munch on instead of candy!

TMR has been mobile for about a week now, and she's on a mission...constantly. I feel like I'm chasing her around trying to merely capture her face...

A look at the entire outfit...

More raisins...we were pleasantly surprised that he wasn't bothered by no shirt and a sash. I used an old pair of khakis for his shorts, and he was very upset when he saw me cutting them up. We were a bit skeptical that this costume wouldn't work out, but he wore it for about two hours without any complaints...whew!

TMR hanging out...

Since CCR is so young and TMR isn't walking yet, we took them up and down the street in the wagon. It worked out really well but still have CCR a chance to get out and ring the doorbell/knock on the door.

This was TMR's first time in the wagon. Now they she's able to sit up for extended periods of time in a moving wagon, I think we'll be taking trips around the neighborhood more often.

While out "trick or treating" a motorcycle passed by. The rider was wearing a scary skeleton mask which was pretty cool. CCR loves motorcycles so he really enjoyed waving at the rider who was going very slowly so he could wave at the kiddos.

Holding on to a very sacred M&M...he finally ate it, but he held on to it for quite some time before that.

Yes, we let the kiddos eat some of the candy this evening. Can you see the chocolate around CCR's mouth and the drippings on his shorts...thankfully he was still exhausted after bath time!

Can you see the dribblings of a tootsie roll down the front of TMR's shirt...she thoroughly enjoyed it!

TMR was thankful to have Mimi there to hold her while drinking her bottle. Thanks Mimi for taking time out to join us for our very brief Halloween celebration!

I'm so glad that I took the time to put costumes together. Since I knew these would be one-timer costumes, I just used random clothes that were either too small or hand-me-downs (both baby and maternity clothes). I only had to buy the iron-on adhesive for the black fabric. It was fun...we'll have to brainstorm what they'll be next year...we hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

A Few Random Shots Around the House

Since going to SBF, we've been hanging close to home. We were able to capture some pretty cute pictures of the kiddos playing around the house.

At Sprouts, CCR wanted to get a small, painted pumpkin. We picked one up and he named it Broken...we now think he was just saying Pumpkin, but neither here nor there, its name is Broken the Pumpkin. TMR took a liking to it for a few days after we got it home. A cuter picture of TMR with a pumpkin than the SBF pictures...

I love the tongue curl with the food all over her face...I guess lunch was yummy!

TMR has been a tummy sleeper for some time now. It was funny to find her with her derriere' in the air...

TMR is just checking out the headlines...

Mimi gave CCR a second box truck (his favorite) and this one has an operable back door. It's become a running joke in our house that there's someone in the back of the truck. So this is a picture of CCR calling out different names (Daddy, Mommy, Mimi) to see who's in the box truck. I don't think he's been able to find anyone in there yet...

CCR is a big fan of his hat. He loves to wear it forward and backwards and sometimes gets very frustrated with it. I was able to capture him being goofy with his hat...

Just a random shot of CCR playing around the house.

TMR is really taking a liking to the newspaper...poor tu...wait a minute, I'm an Aggie...how fitting that the headline is about tu losing...again!

CCR has a very large collection of cars, trucks and other vehicles...some are the wind up kind, some play music and some are just awesome because they're awesome. CCR has really embraced the concept of sharing and loves to bring TMR toys to play with...especially his cars, trucks, etc. Here's TMR playing with CCR's motorcycle that plays music...hopefully we can continue to promote their very sweet relationship! I just hope it lasts...
